Khalid Yousuf makes hole in one

DUBAI, Jan 24 — Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) teams dominated the Omega Dubai Desert Classic Pro Am, racking top finishes in both the morning and afternoon shotguns at Emirates Golf Club on Wednesday.

Making his first appearance in Dubai, American Pat Perez led the EGA-VIII team, comprising Walid Al Attar, Maurizio La Noce and Jake Skelton as amateurs, to a one-shot victory over the OMEGA-VIII team in the morning session while Henrik Stenson guided his EGA-1 team that included Demos Mouskis, Marios Lanitis and Stathis Stathis as amateurs, to the finish line in the afternoon.

Leading UAE national golfer Khalid Yousuf, playing for the Team Camel, produced the shot of the day as he aced the 181-yard par-3 15th with a six iron for a second hole in one of his career and the first ever in the Pro Am.

Meanwhile, the OMEGA-I team, led by four-time major winner Rory McIlroy, finished 11th on 19-under. Amateurs in the team included global superstar Niall Horan, Saoirse Lambe and V.Shanker.

Henri Burrus, Area Sales Manager, Omega, and Chris May, CEO of Dubai Golf, presented the prizes.
